Obituary for Adelaide Lorraine Wolff

Adelaide (Addie) L. Wolff, of Belcoville, NJ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, completing her earthly journey of 92 years. She deeply loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout her lifetime. Her love of God was evident to all. She devoted her life to caring for and nursing elderly family members. Her life was one of service, and she was always willing to help others.

Addie was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest of eight children born to George and Adelaide Sims. She met her husband while both were active members of the Lehigh Avenue Baptist Church in Philadelphia. After her marriage, she left her job with Sears, Roebuck and Company and relocated to Belcoville, NJ.

She became a member of the Belcoville Community Church, where she taught Sunday school and DVBS for 25 years until its closing. Thereafter, she continued to serve God by teaching Sunday school at the Lakewood Chapel in Mays Landing for the next 20 years. She was also actively involved with the 4-H for several years.

In addition to her parents, Addie was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Charles, in 2022; her brothers, George and John Sims; and sisters, Ruth DeStefano, Judith Scott, Barbara Nolan, and Linda Young. She is survived by her daughter and her son-in-law, Audrey and Richard Hayes, of Vineland, NJ, her daughter, Donna (John), of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Thomas Taylor, of Bensalem, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Sarah Camillo and Debra Lang of Lower Bank, NJ.

In keeping with the wishes of Addie, a private service and burial will take place in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
