Adelbert Joseph “Joe” Kirk Jr, 81, of Mays Landing, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 2, 1941 in Camden, New Jersey to Adelbert Joseph Kirk Sr. and Marion Holt. He served in the United States Marine Corps. As a career, he spent over 30 years as a City of Camden Firefighter. He retired in April of 2000 as Captain of Engine Company 11. He is survived by his beloved wife Kim (nee Woodall). His son Donald (Dana Durso) and daughter Karen. He has one granddaughter, Casey Ann, who was the apple of his eye. He is survived by several brothers and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who knew him as “Dukie”. He is missed dearly by his two fur babies, Charlotte and Dukie. He resided at the Fairways in Mays Landing, NJ and will be missed by many wonderful friends.

A viewing will be held, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ with a service at 12:00 pm. Burial with full military honors will be at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.
