Obituary

Anne S. Eble (Rickel), 70, of Galloway, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Saturday March 13th 2021 after an extended hospital and subacute rehab stay. Anne was born on September 3, 1950 and was a lifelong resident of Atlantic County.

If you knew anything about Annie you knew that she had a huge heart of gold and would always help anyone she could with even things she didn’t have herself. She loved to talk with whoever would listen to her and if you met her one time you had a friend for life.

She spent several of her earlier years working odd jobs at the casinos, in Atlantic City where she grew up, and in the deli department at Pathmark for a few years where she enjoyed making new friends . Most of Anne’s time was spent with her 3 children who she loved very much and a person could not meet her without hearing about her kids and later on her grandchildren and great grandchild as well.

She is predeceased by her mother and father Rueben Rickel and Netta Rickel (Friedman) as well as her two grandchildren William R Egan who loved to call her his “gangster nanny” and she called him her “gangster, grandson”. and more recently her granddaughter Kayla M Kraus who always made sure to check on her Nanny and brighten her day. Her dog Teddy of 10 years was also waiting to happily greet her with her grandchildren in Heaven when she arrived.

Anne is survived by her three children Richard L Hammell (Carmen), Rebecca A Egan (Hammell) son in law Robert Dodson, Samantha D Swan (Hammell) son in law Robert Swan , her granddaughter Brittany C Diehl (Anthony),granddaughter Brooklyn Swan, her new granddaughter in law Dominique Swan ( Nathan ) and great grandson Aj Simonetti.

Annie will be greatly missed by her family and many friends that she has made over the years at her apartment building especially Gert who she never stopped talking about and loved her very much.

Family has decided to have private services in leu of flowers please send any donations to the Humane Society of Atlantic County, 1401 Absecon Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ 08401
