Obituary for Antonia DuQue-Pino

Antonia DuQue Pino also known as “Toni”, 53, of Brigantine, NJ, passed away peacefully amongst all of her loved ones, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

Antonia was born on July 25, 1969 to parents, Betty Ayala and Luis Pagan at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York. She attended grade school in Queens, NY and went on to attend and graduate from Newtown High School also in Queens, NY. Antonia then attended Atlantic Cape Community College for 2 years in the pursuit of a Law Degree and obtained her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. She graduated with a 4.0.

Antonia’s dream was to get married and have children. Antonia was the proud mother of 9 children; 7 biological children and adopted her 2 nephews. Her greatest love was her family and all of her children were proud to call her “Mom.” She would always proudly boast about all 9 of her children. Antonia was more than happy to be the central figure in their lives and worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her children. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that is all that ever mattered to her.

Despite her large family, Antonia always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love and cared deeply for anyone she met. She was always the first to offer help and always ensured that every person who crossed her path was safe, healthy, and happy. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.

Antonia was an exceptional wife and mother. She was also very devoted to her mother, who was a large part of her world.

Antonia was a carefree and compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was noble, selfless, loving, nurturing, and above all loyal. She was the epitome of a “strong woman.”

Though Antonia’s health was failing for years, few people knew the extent in which she struggled. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain.

While Antonia’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Antonia in a way that honors her spirit.

Antonia is survived by her mother, Betty, her former husbands; Freddy and Otto. Her 9 children; Dyanna, Giovanni, Kristina, Tanya, Sergio, Daniel, Alexa, James and Evan. Her sister, Lisa. Her nieces and nephews; Chris, Andy, Remy, and Lukas. Her cousins; Jason and Jolene, her 6 grandchildren; Ella, Giacomo, Alaina, Mila, Luciana, and Giovannni II and her daughters in law; Marcella and Alyssa, and her sons in law; Francisco and Carmine.

The DuQue Pino family invite all family and friends to join them in a Celebration of Life memorial and mass. It will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at 519 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ 08201 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 8:30 am. The DuQue Pino family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to directly to the family.
