Brent F. Denney, 56 years old, from Dorothy, N.J. passed away peacefully, with his wife, Tresna Denney, by his side at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (Mainland Division) on October 13th after a difficult and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Brent was born on May 30, 1964 in Somers Point, NJ to Joy Denney and subsequently adopted by James Denney. Brent spent his childhood growing up in what he referred to as “Birdland.” As an early adult, Brent purchased his first home in Dorothy, NJ where his wife still resides.

Brent’s Volunteer firefighting career began in the early 90’s with the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company. During this time, he also obtained his EMT-D dispatch/911 communications certification. After moving to Dorothy, Brent joined Estell Manor Volunteer Fire Company as a firefighter and subsequently Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company as a firefighter/EMT where Brent served as acting Lieutenant. In July 2010 Brent received a lifetime achievement award and membership status with Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company.

Brent was also Deputy Coordinator for Weymouth Township Emergency Management.

Brent unconditional and happily served his community and the public in various ways throughout his life.

Brent will be remembered for being a car and gun enthusiast. He could always be found in his garage working on any one of his classic cars, most recently his ‘67 Chevrolet Nova. Brent was a great lover of animals and had been known to open his home to any wayward animal including his beloved squirrels, deer, goats, ducks, chickens and rabbits. Especially his dogs Raven, Rommel, Pyle and Karma his service dog.

Brent will he remembered for many things but most importantly the brotherhood and friendships he held so dearly throughout his life. He touched many lives in many different ways.
