Catherine Mary Hughes, 88, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, peacefully passed away January 13, 2023. Kitty is survived by her 3 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She always sang praises of their accomplishments.

Kitty grew up in Philadelphia, where she graduated at the top of her class from Little Flower High School. Kitty was married 56 years to her husband, Tom Hughes until his passing in 2010. Kitty and Tom also lived in Texas, New York, Oklahoma, Ireland and lastly in New Jersey.

Kitty had a successful career in finance and accounting for auto dealerships in the Philadelphia suburbs. She enjoyed words and was an avid cryptogram and crossword puzzle player. Her tattoos were always a conversation starter.

A gathering will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10-11am at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ, with a service beginning at 11am. All are welcome. Kitty will be buried next to her husband in their family plot in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Philadelphia, after the service.
