It is with profound sorrow and deep love that the family of Christopher Michael Kraus, Sr., 44, of Mays Landing, announce his passing on July 21, 2023, after a brief but aggressive form of Stage 4 Small Cell Lung Cancer.
Chris, aka “CK”, was lovingly surrounded by his family when he was called to Heaven to finally be gifted with eternal peace. For one of the hardest working men we’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, he can now finally be at rest.
Chris was brilliantly gifted in so many areas and his creativity was truly remarkable. He was always seen with a smile on his face and his kind eyes told what type of man he was. He was the man always volunteering himself first to do what others would not, always trying to help who he could however he could, no matter the situation.
He was a faithful employee of Cape Insulation, Ocean View, NJ for almost 14 years, and in insulation for over 20 years, making him a Master Spray Foam Insulator. He took extreme pride in what he did and rose to the top of his field, running the entire spray foam division at his company. Everyone he ever worked with will always say how precise and perfect his work was, and how he’d blow everyone away at his speed and craftsmanship. He was inspiring and unstoppable, which made him the best.
Christopher leaves behind his devoted wife, Dolores Kraus (née Bowman) of 27 years; four children, Christopher M. Kraus Jr. (Samantha), Lilianna R. Kraus (Angelo), Matthew G. Kraus, and Carissa A. Kraus. We can’t leave out Buddy, our dog and Chris’s best friend.
He also leaves to grieve, his mother, Deborah Romano (née Adams); stepfather, Frank Romano; his brothers, Derrick Kraus (Beth), Bryan Kraus, and James Kraus, Jr.; father, James Kraus, Sr.; stepmother, Linda Kraus; little sister, Jaime-Lee; his paternal grandmother, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and to the many people whose life he’s touched, please forever cherish his memory and remember him as you did. An angel without wings who’ll always be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm at Lake Lenape East – Pavilion 3, 753 Park Rd., Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Reflections followed by a reception will begin at 4 pm at VFW 220, 1209 Route 50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
