Obituary for Daniel J. Passarelli Jr.
Daniel J. Passarelli, 91, of Port Republic, NJ, died peacefully on May 9, 2023.
Dan was born on May 4, 1932 in Atlantic City. He was a 1950 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy. He went on to earn his bachelors in Civil Engineering from Villanova University in 1955. Dan was in the U.S. Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He married his wife Caroline in 1955 and together had 6 children.
Dan was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, 76’ers, and Villanova Basketball fan. He had a deep commitment to his catholic faith. He also enjoyed horse racing and spending time with friends, particularly his lifelong friend Dick Fetter, with whom he shared many good times. A love of his occupation kept Dan working until he no longer could at 89.
The family would like to thank his friends and coworkers at the Michaels Development Company who helped and supported him during his tenure there.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Dan and Josephine Passarelli, his wife Caroline, daughter Mary Passarelli Kent and grandson John Passarelli Jr. He is survived by his children, Barbara, Daniel III (Donna), John (Carolyn), Kati, and Amy (Eric); grandchildren, Danielle, Erica, Daniel J IV, Anna and Aaron; and great- grandchildren, Dominic and Luciella.
A Mass will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy, Mays Landing, NJ 08330 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:30-11:00 am.
