Dawn Marie Torres (nee Whedbee), 53, of Galloway NJ went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 9, 2023. Born and raised in Mays Landing, a graduate of Oakcrest High School, Dawn enjoyed a 35 year career in local casinos here in Atlantic City starting with The Sands, most recently Borgata, with a short stint in Connecticut in between. She enjoyed the simple things in life and just being with friends and family was enough for her. Quick witted and quite feisty; if you were ‘her people’ you were guaranteed to laugh. A loving mother and grandmother, you could often find Dawn spending her free time with her grandson, Aiden. An avid Raiders fan (for some reason), quietly an Eagles fan (for Dad), she’d watch most any NFL game. She also loved spending time at the Funny Farm Rescue, she believed in the mission, loved its founder, and every creature that lives there.

Dawn is survived by her son Antonio Amezquita, grandson Aiden Amezquita, mother Caroline Whedbee (nee Mauro), brother Rick, niece Haley, many cousins, aunts and uncles, and her beloved pooch Diamond that will all miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her father Richard (Rick), grandparents Richard and Jane Whedbee, and Jerome and Mabel Mauro.

A viewing will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ, from 2:00-4:00 pm with a service at 4:00 pm.
