Obituary for Dean James Tommi Sr.
Dean James Tommi, Sr., age 67, of Egg Harbor Township passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday May 2nd, 2023.
Born in Atlantic City, NJ on January 12, 1956, he grew up in Pomona and Galloway Township. He was the son of the late Thomas and Jean Tommi.
Dean and his wife Sharon, of 43 years, built their home in Egg Harbor Township on the river where they raised their three children and lived there for 30 years. Dean spent his working years self-employed, first running a farm and garden center with his wife, then had a cable installation business before he retired. He enjoyed boating, fishing, skiing, sports, camping, his Marlboros and his Budweiser’s. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren who he adored and was so very proud of.
Dean is survived by his wife, Sharon Tommi (Kennedy) of Brigantine; his son, Dean Jr (Brooke) of EHT, and grandchildren Blaze and Gunner; his son, Shawn Tommi (Ashley) of Estell Manor and grandchildren MJ, Eliza, Kenzie, and Zoey; and his daughter Devon Surace (Rob) of Clermont, Florida and grandchildren Paxton, Maverick, and Tyler; his sister, Tina Tommi of EHT and brother, Thomas Tommi of New York. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Dean will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A gathering will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 5-7 pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, with a service beginning at 7 pm.
