Obituary for Dorothy Arlene Connelly

Dorothy (Dot) Arlene Connelly (Price), 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Dot was born on November 22, 1940 in Camden, New Jersey to Harold Price and Matilda Henderson Price. She was a longtime resident and lived in the White Horse Farms section of Mullica Township for over 30 years. She later moved to Ocean City, then to Mays Landing, and eventually settled in Egg Harbor City.

She is survived by her children Dennis Salmon (Cheryl), Maria Santilli (Jim Sr.), Carol Jean Kessler (George), Donna Melendez, and Daniel Connelly (Marianna); her grandchildren Jennifer (Pete), Jimmy Jr., George (Kryste), Carl (Tresha), Brandan, Courtney, Ashley, Dustin, Melissa, Rebecca, and Angela; great-grandchildren Peter, Noelle, Kane, Andon, Mysstica, Micha, and Juliet; siblings Kenneth Price (Ethel) and Georgianna Williams; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Thomas A. Connelly Jr. and siblings Jack Price, Jean Goebel, Lois Magrogan.

Dot worked for almost 30 years as a waitress for the Maplewood in their Hammonton, Mays Landing, and Atco locations. She also worked at Wesley Manor in Ocean City and Gregory’s in Somers Point. She was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary Post 5043 in Mullica Township and served as their Treasurer. She enjoyed her road trips to Lancaster, Hershey, Tennessee, and Cape May with her family and friends. She had a passion for lighthouses and making day trips to see them along the coast. She always enjoyed a good Scrabble game, reruns of old sitcoms and a random road trip.

Dot had a big heart and was always the first to help, putting the needs of others before her own. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and would take every opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. She will always be remembered by her loved ones for her kindness and thoughtfulness, and she will be missed dearly. We love you mom.

The burial and a celebration of life ceremony was held privately for close family at the request of Dot.
