Elizabeth (Bette) Scandrol, of Mays Landing, NJ, passed away on January 5, 2021. Bette Davis was born on March 23, 1936. She was the daughter of Raymond Davis and Helen Birch. Bette grew up in Mays Landing. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1955. She attended American University in Washington, DC where she earned a B.A. in psychology and education. While at college, she met Donald Scandrol on a blind date, and they married in 1960.
They settled in Milford, NJ. Bette taught elementary school there for 29 years until she retired in 1997. Bette and Don enjoyed 56 years of marriage. They loved their historic home in Milford and enjoyed collecting antiques, toys, trains, baskets, and her Shaker collections.
Bette is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald. She is survived by her brothers Ray Davis and Allen Birch (Joan); nephews Jim Birch (Judy), John Scandrol, and Ryan Davis; nieces Meghan Kate Davis and Paula Jean Scandrol; cousins Rosanne and Jim Brown (Colleen, Kimberly, Jimmy, and Rosie), Larry and Helen Davis, and Dick Zane.
