Esther M. Lloyd, 72, of Egg Harbor Township, earned her angel wings on February 19, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her wings were hard earned as she has been ill for an extended period of time. Esther is the daughter of William and Margaret Lloyd, who predeceased her. Esther is also predeceased by the father of her children, Richard Egan, her brothers, William Lloyd and Howard (Peanut) Lloyd, as well as her grandson, William Egan, who she loved dearly. They were waiting to welcome her to Heaven’s gates when she arrived. Esther grew up in the Chelsea Heights Section of Atlantic City and has many life-long friends from Chelsea Heights. Esther attended Atlantic City High School.

Esther is survived by her long-time companion, Leon Rick, her son, William Egan (Tammy) of Corbin City, daughter, Stacey Egan of Pleasantville, her sister, Mary Lloyd of Egg Harbor Township and sister-in-law, Deborah Haller Lloyd of Absecon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Egan and Danielle Egan of Corbin City, Tanner Egan of Glendora, Shannon Lenihan of San Diego, and Collin and Lilly Rick of Alabama, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Esther was an adventurous young lady and often tells the story of her and Richard hitchhiking to California when she was 17, and her other adventures out there. They returned to South Jersey driving an old Volkswagen with their daughter in the middle of winter and she remained in the South Jersey area.

Esther was a bus driver for Egg Harbor Township Schools, known as “Mrs. T”, and just loved driving her students. It was her joy to treat her riders to gifts from candies to Cabbage Patch dolls. Esther was meticulous in her dress, and her hair and makeup were always perfect. The first thing she would ask for in the hospital was her makeup. She would always ask her niece, Michele, to put her eyebrows on. She was just as meticulous with her home and she would actually wear the wheels off her vacuum cleaners.

She was a very giving and loving person, well-liked by all. She will surely be missed every day by her family and friends. She is now walking amongst her family and friends who left this world before her.

Services will be private.
