Obituary for Frances M. Fuchs (Troy)

Frances Mary Fuchs, 89 years young, passed away in her sleep on March 8th, under the care of the amazing people of AtlantiCare Hospice. Who made her last days on earth as comfortable as possible. Frances has been a resident of “The Fairways” since February, 2004.

Frances was born in 1931 in a very small town (Jackson Patch?) near Mahanoy City in the coal region of upstate Pennsylvania. She was baptized Frances Mary Louise Troy. Her parents, both deceased, Charles and Frances Mary Troy.

The family moved to Philadelphia in the early 1940's. Her father getting employment with the E.G. Budd Company, She finished grammar school at St. Bonaventure's Church. She then went to Little Flowers Catholic High School for Girls. From where she graduated with the Class of '49.

She then went to work for Bryant of Philadelphia, a distributor of HVAC equipment. She became the heart of the Inside Sales Department. Working with the outside sales people and contractors in getting the proper equipment for their customers. The company was absorbed by Peirce-Pheips, a much larger organization. She had over 50 years in the industry and was acknowledged for her extensive knowledge of the equipment, her willingness to go the extra mile and her calm demeanor. Frances retired in 2003. Her retirement party was well attended by dealers and contractors who in many instances became friends.

She loved to travel with friends and her husband, Henry, who she married in 1967. Several trips to Walt Disney World, also a special place in Virginia, the Tides Inn. Later a trip to Germany on their 25th Anniversary to visit the Christmas Markets. The first of a number of trips to Europe.

She is survived by her husband Henry and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

There will be a Mass celebrated, Thursday the 18th at 11:00am at St. Katherine Drexel Church in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. Interment will be at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
