Obituary for Gregory Robert Youhas

Greg Youhas passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 18, 2022 while on vacation.

Greg was born in Chicago on October 4, 1948. While he remained loyal to his Cubs and Bears, he adopted his Philadelphia sports teams and was particularly excited by “his” Phillies post season run.

Growing up Greg was active in sports playing football and basketball. He graduated from La Salle University in 1970. Greg was diagnosed with MS in 1969. While no longer able to play basketball he was able to coach his children in his beloved sport. With the aid of carts, he was able to play golf until about 15 years ago.

Greg began working for Mobil Oil in 1970 and spent 25 years with them. He then went to work for Lincoln Financial before retiring in 2008. In his retirement he discovered a love of travel and proceeded to travel the world, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes all five.

We are all extremely grateful for all our happy memories of him. While he left us to grieve, we know he is at peace and no longer in pain.

Greg is predeceased by his parents, George and Virginia Youhas; and brother David. He is survived by his wife Patricia; children, Krista, Audra and Troy; sister Jackie Bailey; many nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives; and good friend, Tomme Casmay.

A gathering will be held from 9am – 10:45am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy, Mays Landing, NJ 08330 with a memorial mass to follow at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891.
