Obituary for Herbert N. Sprague
Herbert N. Sprague, 76, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed away at home surrounded by his family on Nov. 16, 2022 after a short illness. He was born on Oct.13, 1946 in Atlantic City, NJ. He graduated from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty, of 51 years, his 2 daughters, Bettyanne Grabert (Alan), Susan Humpherys (Joe), his sister, Julie Martin, his 4 grandchildren, Matthew Breder (Michaellea), Brittany Breder, Michael Lamanna, Daniel Grabert. He also has 4 great grandchildren, Zoey, Maddox, Skylar, Beckett Breder and Emmie Sorg and many nieces and nephews. Herb is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Fayetta Jane (nee) Salmons, his brother Harold, sisters, Lola Devlin, Alice Wilson, Lillian Fuls and Gladys Van Houton.
Herbert owned a construction company for over 20 years then worked as a Superintendent for Egg Harbor Township Public Works for 10 years. Herb had his pilot’s license and loved flying his Cessna & RC planes. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes, playing golf and making things in his workshop. He was a very talented and creative woodworker.
A memorial service will be held at New Life Assembly, 5071 Fernwood Ave., Egg Harbor Twp, NJ 08234 on November 23, 2022 from 10 am-12 pm and the service will begin at 12:00.
