Obituary for James Nelson Davis III

James Nelson Davis III, 25, of Punta Gorda, FL gained his angel wings on December 29, 2022 at Temple Hospital's Burn Center in Philadelphia after a tragic fire accident that had occurred on Christmas night. James was surrounded by his family and his best friend in his final hours.

James was born in Aurora, Colorado on January 4th, 1997 to his proud parents, James Davis Jr and Jeanne Marie Davis (nee Nolan). James lived in many places in his early life and made friends everywhere he went. He was home-schooled for much of his education. James spent the majority of his later years in Florida, where he worked several jobs. His recent jobs included Lead of Operations at Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, and most recently he worked as a corrections officer. James was accepted into the Florida Highway Patrol State Trooper program and would have started his training in January 2023.

James enjoyed many hobbies including skateboarding, going to the beach, hiking, spending time outdoors, listening to his favorite podcasts and music, tactical gear, building and shooting his guns, being with friends and family. James loved his wife and daughter more than anything and was a wonderful husband and father. He was very proud of his family and adored them. James excelled at everything he did and was an amazing person that everyone loved.

James is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Davis, his precious 1 year old daughter, Elliana, his parents James Davis Jr. and Jeanne Marie Davis (nee Nolan), brothers Cameron Davis (Elizabeth) and Dominick Davis; father-in-law Bill Smith and mother-in-law Jeanine Smith; brothers-in-law, Stephen Fisk (Dominique), Michael Fisk (Paige), Tyler Smith; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Davis, and many friends, including Colton Vantine, Parker Brignolo, and his best friend, Nick Maurais.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ, with reflections at 4pm.
