Obituary

Jamie D. Hermann (née Glenn) born January 2, 1954, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 28, 2021.

Jamie had worked at numerous real estate offices in Atlantic County for over 40 years. She helped so many sell and find their forever home. Not only was she just a realtor, for fun Jamie found a passion for arts and crafts. She enjoyed painting most of all. If you were to ever come across her she would often speak about her love for the lake and we can’t ever forget about her fairy gardens, her love for hummingbirds, and how much she enjoyed spending her days with family and friends. Jamie was so loved, her presence would bring a smile to just about anyone’s face. If she wasn’t busy making you laugh or singing one of her favorite songs then she was definitely filling your ears with the best advice.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Giagunto, her parents James and Leila, her brother James and her nephew, James (Jimmy). Jamie is survived by her sisters, Bette Lee Hermansen and Judy Braun. Her nieces Katie (Shaun), Kelly (Mike) and Hailey.

There was no greater love then Jamie’s for her beloved children, Brian (Jenn) Alicia (Jose) grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashley, Angelina, Joseph Avaley, Brian, Nicole, Nate, and great-granddaughter Kylie. She will surely be missed by her dogs, Molly and Marley and her cat Chloe who she loved so much.

Jamie had a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all.

Memorial service will be held on March 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Masks will be required. Burial will be private.

Jamie lived down the street from me during my teenage years until I moved away in my 20s. She was so much more than a neighbor. She was a friend, and a confidante. I babysat for her kids for many years. My fondest memories are of our times on Lenape Ave. One of my favorite hangouts was Jamie's house, lounging in the hammock, swimming or canoeing on the lake, playing with the kids, and laughing, lots and lots of laughing. Jamie loved to laugh and she loved to hear her kids laugh. We shared many holidays, birthdays, regular days. She helped to teach me to drive and took me for my road test. We kept in touch over the years. She was always someone who was willing to talk, to share, to laugh. She was a great comfort after my husband passed. It was truly a pleasure to know her. Though she is gone way too soon and she will be so, so missed by her family and friends, there's comfort in knowing that she is again among the others that she loved to much and is at peace. God bless Alicia and Brian and their families as they grieve, and her sister Judy and niece Kelly who I also had the pleasure to know. The one word that comes to mind when I think of Jamie is "Joy" and fittingly that is her daughter's middle name. She was a spreader of joy. We will all miss her terribly. The happy memories of our times together will always be with us.

Jamie and I worked together for one season at Pomona Golf Course. Jamie knew nothing about the game of golf. I had to explain to her what a fairway was and why the green had a flag in the middle of it! She loved to talk to the golfers and they would tell her about their round of golf and her response was "I hope you got the ball in the hole!!!!!" my favorite part was teaching Jamie how to drive the golf carts, there was not a day that went by that when parking the carts in the garage at night she didn't hit the wall and we just laughed hysterically!!!! The golfers will miss her great personality and that infectious laugh. XOXO

We worked together at J & R Real Estate for close to 20 years. She was definitely one of those people you wanted to be around. A loving soul with and great sense of humor and infectious laugh. I hadn't seen much of her lately but I will always remember her with fondness. My sincerest condolences to her family.

The "Sister" I Never Had" (In Law). The Partner In my Crimes, the Ethel to my Lucy, The Mimi to ALL my kids and Grands, earned her wings early this morning. She's been with us through thick and thin, during some of the most trying times of my life. In GOOD times......and there were so many..... and bad. She loved my darling son Jimmy as much as life itself, and that's saying a lot. There is comfort in knowing that she has now reunited with her precious loved ones, and so many that left this earthly plain before us. Her kids, family and friends are just devastated. She was SO much to SO many...Rest in Peace my dear friend/sister until we meet again. I was honored to be your side-kick. p.s. I'll be watching for those crows. I will miss you so.
