Obituary for Janet R. Zeldin
It is with great sorrow that the family of Janet Rose Zeldin announces her passing on May 19, 2023, in Mays Landing, NJ at the age of 80. Janet was born in Dearborn, Michigan to Anne and John Balint, on August 12, 1942.
She spent the early years of her life in Toledo, Ohio, before moving with her family to Philadelphia. This is when she met the love of her life, Barnett "Barry" Zeldin. They met in High School and it was the beginning of a great love story. They were married on October 5, 1963 in Bucks County, PA. They spent the following 8 years creating their family in Philadelphia where they called home.
Outside of being a Mom, Janet worked many different jobs such as being a registered nurse, and she and Barry owned and operated many different businesses over the years: A pretzel store at Rice's Market, an ice cream parlor, water ice truck, and the world famous Barry's Pretzels.
Janet is survived by her son, Glenn (Debbie) Zeldin, Chandler, Arizona; daughter, April (Dave) Belcher, Junction City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kayla Belcher, Bailey (Amber Whelton) Zeldin, Whitney (Kaden) Wilkerson, Lindsay Belcher, Nick Belcher, Hunter Zeldin, and Logan Zeldin; and great-grandchildren Camden Murphy and Ashton Zeldin. Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Barnett "Barry" Zeldin; son, Brad (Kelli, widow) Zeldin; grandson, Taylor (Courtney, widow) Zeldin; parents, Anne and John Balint; sister, Barbara Halenar and brother, Richard (Pat) Napp.
Friends and family may gather at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy., Mays Landing, NJ. on Tuesday, May 30th from 10am to 11am, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am.
