Obituary for Javier Oscar "J.J. or Jay" Merced
Javier Oscar Merced, “Jay” or “J.J.”, 54, of Somers Point, passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2021. He was born on April 24, 1966 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Javier was a strong willed, adventurous person, and soft hearted for others in need. He was employed at Linwood Country Club for many years; he also worked at various establishments.
Jay was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved music and loved his cat Sabrina. He had a strong belief in his catholic faith.
He is survived by his father Pablo Merced; mother Maria Carcador; siblings: Pablo Merced, Jr., Annette Merced, Jorge Merced, Tony; and his long-time partner and fiancé Julie Schneider.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 16th from 2-3 PM, at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a service will be at 3 PM.
