It is with great sadness, that the family of Joseph Nicholas Doherty, 40, announces his passing. “Joey,” as his parents called him, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2020 at his home in Pleasantville.

Joey was born December 17, 1980 and was a life-long resident of Pleasantville. He was a 1999 graduate of Holy Spirit High School. Over the course of his life, he was employed by Herr’s, Caesar’s Entertainment, Camden Outdoor, Acme, and Shop Rite. Joey shared a love for animals, fishing, cars, and enjoyed helping others.

He is survived by his father, Richard “Doc” Doherty, and his brothers, Richard “Rick” Doherty, and Michael (Lesley) Doherty, along with his nephews, Nicholas and Michael. Joey will also be forever remembered by his aunt, Catherine Long, extended family and dear friends. Joey was predeceased by his mother, Irene Doherty, and his family’s beloved dog, Lou.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
