Obituary for Julia E. Boyd

Julia E. Boyd was affectionately known as “Judy”. She was born to Welcome Murray and Sarah Lomax in Camden, New Jersey. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Vineland, New Jersey.

Julia spent her early years in Camden, New Jersey before moving to Williamstown, New Jersey. Julia attended Williamstown High School. She was the oldest of three children. She grew up with her brother, John Jerome “Butchy” and a sister, Delores Renee “Patty”.

Julia married Arthur “Art” Boyd on December 11, 2003 and they made their home in Vineland, New Jersey. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She and her loving husband, Art, spent time together enjoying talking, shopping and watching a wide variety of sports and movies. She was blessed to have found such a deep love and devotion with Art. They were truly made for each other.

Julia had one daughter, Sarah Precious, from her marriage to her ex-husband, the late Julius Williams. During that time, she was a homemaker and stay at home mom. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and decorating.

Julia LOVED her family. She talked of her parents with love. She spoke of growing up with her brother and sister and many cousins with joy and laughter. Julia stayed in touch with her siblings, through phone calls and visits. Her daughter was the apple of her eye and she raised her with love, affection and a sense of humor. She taught her daughter to work hard, be a person of integrity, and most of all to be kind to others. Julia adored her grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer. She happily welcomed Jennifer’s husband, Azariah into the family. She had great respect and love for her son-in-love, Steve. She often said, Steve was an answer to her prayers of a good husband for her daughter. Julia was an exceptional mother, grandmama, mother-in-love and woman.

Julia leaves to cherish her memory: Art, her loving and adoring husband; daughter, Sarah (Steve) Mallory; grandchildren, Steven Mallory and Jennifer (Azariah) Keith; brother John (Vivian) Lomax, Sr.; nieces, Precious Hargrove and Angel Hargrove; nephews, Fred Hargrove, Jr., John (Lakeia) Lomax, Jr. and Jerome Lomax; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister.
