Obituary

Lois D. (Stauffer) Collier, 93, passed away peacefully, following a short illness from The Lincoln Rehab, Vineland, NJ on December 28, 2020. Our mother died depressed and lonely at the Lincoln Center, as none of her family or minister could visit due to Covid19.

Born in Newark, NJ to Ross E. and Carrie Walker Stauffer. They moved to Merchantville, NJ where our mother graduated from Merchantville High School in 1944. She met the love of her life, James (Jim) our father in 1945 on a blind date. They were married until dad died in 2003.

She was active in the Girl Scouts and sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church, in Vineland for many years. She was an avid sewer, cross stitcher and she learned to quilt in her later years. Lois also enjoyed crossword puzzles and board puzzles. She had a close relationship with her Pastor, Rev. John Ash of the Presbyterian Church in Mays Landing.

Lois is survived by three children, Deborah (David) Kean, Vineland; Joanne Carmen, of California; and Scott J. (Deborah) Collier. Four grandchildren, Anne Christine (Andrew) Abate; Jennifer Lynn (Louis) Sacco; JJ Carmen; Zachary James Collier; and five great granddaughters; Abigail Abate, Allison Abate, and Ava Abate; Sophia Sacco and Lucy Sacco.

There will be no visitation. A small private service will be led by Rev. John Ash of the Presbyterian Church at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lois' memory to The Presbyterian Church of Mays Landing, 6001 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
