Obituary for Louis Anthony Drago

Louis Anthony Drago, age 67, died of health complications on April 25, 2023.

Louis was born on August 6, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents Anthony Drago and Anne Vicarri. He is preceded in death by both parents. Louis is survived by his two sisters Laurie Drago and Allison Drago Black.

For many years, Louis enjoyed a successful career in the hospitality industry, primarily in New Orleans. He survived Hurricane Katrina and decided to relocate to Atlantic City, New Jersey to spend more time with his family.

He was a kind, gentle man who was deeply involved in his church and community programs for the majority of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and helping others in need. For the past 23 years, he celebrated his sobriety by helping hundreds of other people navigate through their own personal recovery journeys. He will always be remembered as a selfless and extremely humble person whose friends described as a “spiritual giant”. Louis would always say that he was blessed with grace, mercy, and unconditional love.

Louis had a passion for music, singing, and poetry. He sang in multiple choirs and enjoyed the art of writing. He was a creative soul who even produced original poems that he shared with his friends and family.

A mass is scheduled to take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13th at St. Nicholas of Tolentine, 1409 Pacific Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louis’s life.
