Obituary for Margaret J. Heinemann

Margaret Heinemann was born on 11-12-1932 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her friends and family on January 19, 2023. Born and raised in Philadelphia, after graduating from West Catholic Girls High School, she entered the Sister of Saint Joseph and went on to receive her teaching degree from Chestnut Hill College. She taught various grades in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, her last teaching assignment was at St. Vincent DePaul in Mays Landing. At 43 she changed careers and graduated from Temple University Pharmacy School. She started her pharmacy career in Pa., and after relocating to New Jersey, she worked at and retired from the Atlanticare Hospital System. She also served as a pharmacy consultant for Absecon and Mainland Manor Nursing Homes. Margaret was an avid animal advocate and a protector of the good earth. She selflessly volunteered for the SPCA, Betsy's Cape May Shore Salts, Hope's Animal Refuge, WildLife Aid as well as many other animal advocate organizations. As a pharmacist, she mentored any nurse seeking her assistance. She loved gardening, boating on the Great Egg Harbor, the beach and anything to do with the great outdoors. But most of all she loved her family and friends. Margaret was everyone's go to person who needed any kind of help or support. She was a loyal friend, kind to all, and extremely selfless.

She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Marie Heinemann, her brother Charles, her sister Helen and her nephew Mathew. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her dear friends Barbara, Diane and Marcie.

A memorial mass will be held 11:00 am, Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, NJ 08330, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am.
