Obituary

Marian E., Cowart, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2021.

Born May 5, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Atlantic City in the early 1960’s. Her father worked for Atlantic City Government; her mother, was the first woman night auditor for Atlantic City. Marian married William S. Cowart in 1976 after courting for two months. They were born a son Thomas Cowart in August 1978 and the very next August, 1979, born a daughter Phyllis Joan Cowart. Then in 1981 born another daughter, Marian M. Cowart.

Marian is predeceased by her daughter Phyllis Joan Cowart; she is survived by her husband William S. Cowart; her children: Thomas Cowart and Marian M. Cowart (Henry K. Shroeder); brother George Edwards and his daughter Brittany Lynn Edwards; Four grandchildren that she loved dearly: Lacey Ray Cowart, Cheyanne Cowart, Giovanna Matz, Slater Cowart, and Vienna Rose Cowart; dear family friend Steven Sanders; and many other relatives and friends who will love her dearly.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 10-11 AM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park.
