Obituary for Marjorie Irene Berry (Olsen)
Marjorie Irene Berry, 78, of Dorothy, passed away of natural causes on April 24, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Russell and Irene Olsen on February 23, 1943 and raised in Pleasantville. She graduated Pleasantville High School in 1961, worked at Prudential, was a member of the Scullville Ladies Auxiliary and Line Dancing Crew.
With her strong will and determination, Marjorie defied all medical diagnosis as she lived a long life filled with love and joy. Our “Medical Miracle” loved spending time with husband Jack of 58 years, boating, country line dancing and attending Cruisin Night Car Club events. She was always up for a game of cards with anyone willing. Most of all she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren of which were her life’s pride and joy. Anytime with family was time well spent.
She will be fondly remembered for her ability to make a welcoming home. When you came in once, you were welcomed into the family forever.
She is survived by her husband John A. Berry, Jr., children John A. Berry III (Linda), Marjorie Irene Mangold (Michael), Russell William Berry (Carolyn), Dorothy-Jo Ayres (Brian); grandchildren Caitlin Laskow (Gregg), John A. Berry IV, Amber Berry, Nick Mangold, Melissa Helman (Clark), Rick Mangold, Brian Ayres, Jr., three great-grandchildren Madison, Hudson & Ehmet; siblings Alice Arlan, Linda Norberg (Richard), Russell Olsen (Doris), Harold Olsen (Elizabeth). Marjorie is predeceased by her parents Axel Russell & Irene May Olsen.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 29th from 10am-11am at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ, with a service at 11am. Burial immediately following at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.
