Obituary for Nancy Ellen Vasta

Nancy Ellen Vasta of Mays Landing passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2023 surrounded by the love of her friends. She was born to the late George Hobbs and her late mother Ives "Corrine" Hobbs. She is survived by her brothers, Jeffrey Hobbs (Sharon) and George Hobbs as well as 3 nieces, Katie Webb (Mark), Jackie Hobbs (Brian) and Amanda Hobbs (Josh) and stepdaughter Nichole Patrone (Joseph) and her companion, George Hay.
Nancy was born in Philadelphia, PA. Her family moved from the city to Deptford, NJ where she grew up. Nancy has been a resident of Mays Landing since 1980. She was a successful business owner of the Bagel Haven in Atlantic City, then went to work for the Golden Nugget Casino and then opened a local pub, Good Guys in Mays Landing for many years until she found her real passion in real estate.

If you have ever visited the Glen Cove office, you were more than likely greeted by Nancy’s beautiful smile and happy disposition. Her porcelain white skin was probably the first thing that caught your eye, but it was her insides that truly made her shine. Her heart was pure and her soul was kind, always ready to help and support those in need. You felt safe and cherished in her presence. She strategically chose the desk near the front door when she started working with them in early 2000.

She loved working with people and doing the best job she could do for them. Nancy put her extensive real estate knowledge and experience to use for her clients. She prided herself on completing continuing education before it was required and acquiring real estate certifications to better serve her clients. She specialized in PEOPLE helping them in residential, commercial, and investment properties, she elevated her skillset to match their needs. Her certifications included Certified Residential Specialist, RSPS Resort, Second Home Specialist and her e-PRO certification. Her hard work and determination earned her many awards over the years such as the Quality Service Pinnacle Award and Century 21 President’s Award. Nancy was consistently a Top Producer and always achieved the NJAR Circle of Excellence. She was a huge reason that the office had been consistently awarded The Best of The Press from 2017 - 2022.

Nancy was a rare gem, incredibly loyal in an industry that doesn’t usually see that. Most of all she put her clients' needs first, and that is truly what made her successful. Integrity and always fighting for the underdog. In real estate, there are certain agents that you are excited to cooperate with because you know that they will do an excellent job, Nancy was a shining example of one of those agents. She also selflessly volunteered for the Atlantic City and County Board of Realtors to give back to the industry that she loved.

As a successful entrepreneur in her previous careers, she knew the struggles of being the actual business owner and focused her energy on helping her clients achieve their goals which in turn made her glow. In her own words, “It gives me a good feeling to be a part of something that makes my client's life easier and happier.” Nancy’s top priority was her clients who by the end of the transaction, became her personal friends.

Nothing made her happier than to find the perfect home for her clients. She loved making people happy and adored her Glen Cove Family. Nancy was loving, kind, compassionate and always positive, she was always smiling and laughing. Her laugh was like no other. She was someone you would gravitate towards and always wanted to be around. She was adored by her friends, co-workers and peers.

Nancy loved the casinos, dining out and would always invite her friends along with her. She was very generous to those she loved. She would help anyone in need without a single thought. She loved the Theater and going to shows in Philadelphia. She loved Bingo and half price movie night. She loved to travel with her dearest friend, Nancy Maloney and loved her Philly Girls! She was always on the go!

Nancy will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. She was such a beautiful soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm, with service and reflections beginning 2pm at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's memory to Atlantic City Rescue Mission or Community Food Bank.
