Obituary for Patricia A. Paules

Paules (Philp), Pattie Ann, 61 of Egg Harbor Township, passed away quietly at home surrounded by her loving husband and family on Sunday, April 23, 2023, after fighting a long battle with metastatic lung cancer.

Pattie was born and raised in Chelsea Heights, Atlantic City and attended Atlantic City Public Schools. She worked at Petinga’s Salt Water Taffy factory and Amodeo office while attending ACHS. She then worked for Verizon for 31 years, retiring from the Marmora office in 2012. After retirement, Pattie had various part-time jobs; EHT High School cafeteria, Shop Rite, and Wawa.

Pattie is predeceased by her parents Andrew and Phyllis Philp and her sister Linda Philp Rivera. She is survived by her loving husband Dan of 42 years; her son Daniel; and daughter Lisa (Will) Ellis; her dog Cain, who was not only the dog, he was a family member; her sisters: Kathy Philp, Chrissy (John) Williams, Carrie (Tom) McCabe, Jackie (Dave) Lee, Bobbie (Ken) Nichols, and Andie Philp; her God daughter Kate McCabe and close nephew Tommy McCabe and many nieces and nephews. Pattie had an awesome hospice nurse “Jessica” who from the beginning fit into our family, creating a bond so close with Pattie that she was made an honorary sister (#9). She was fortunate to have (2) of her sisters, Carrie and Andie that were able to provide extra comfort and care, along with the remaining Philp girls who gave her love and support and from her special friend Rita Tierney.

Pattie enjoyed her morning coffee with Carrie (her twin). Every morning Pattie would turn on her back light to let Carrie know she was up and coffee was ready. She enjoyed watching the birds in her backyard garden with her husband Dan and Carrie.

Pattie was a very hard worker. She was very caring and thoughtful and always put everyone else’s needs before her own. To know her was to love her. She was very open and likeable. Pattie had various hobbies: crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch and gardening.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 am, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ, where a gathering will begin at 9:00 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter.
