Obituary for Ralph Stephen Brownlee

An infectious laugh that would light up any room. The epitome of a family man who cherished most the quality time spent with the love of his life - Maryann and the daughters he so adored - Kristina and Lisa. This is how Ralph will be remembered.

Ralph “Ralphie” Stephen Brownlee, 70, of Mays Landing, passed away on Friday, May 12th in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Born October 6, 1952 in Germany to the late Alice (DiMatteo)and Clarence Brownlee. A 1970 graduate of Vineland High School, Ralph, continued his education at Trenton State College. Dedicating himself to a variety of jobs over the years, Ralph retired as a personnel director for Cumberland County after many years of service.

But it was in the embrace of his family and friends where Ralph found joy. He reveled in the countless hours spent with his grandkids, sons-in-law, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and of course his many friends that he considered family. He knew how to laugh and make others laugh with his upbeat, always happy, charming personality - loved by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure to know him. He leaves behind a legacy to enjoy life to its fullest, love wholeheartedly, and always embrace the gift of laughter. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, scuba diving, dining out, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, passionately rooting for the Phillies and Eagles, winetasting festivals (especially with his “girls” Kris & Lisa.), & hosting memorable Christmas Eve dinners for the family he adored.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty-eight years, Maryann (Talarico); his two daughters and their spouses, Kristina and Glenn Green of Vineland, NJ; and Lisa and Jason Bishop of Mays Landing, NJ. He was the loving Pop Pop of Colin and Konnor Green and Jason and Mariana Bishop; brother Skip and Joyce Brownlee of Naples, FL; brother Jim Brownlee of Newark, DE; sister Cheryl Brownlee of Thurmont, MD; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ralph was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Ronald Brownlee, nephew Ronald Brownlee Jr., and mother-in-law Virginia Talarico.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in Ralph’s honor at a later date. Ralph will be forever missed but held always in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. He will always be remembered as a shining light and a source of joy.
