Obituary for Susan M. Swan

Susan M. Swan of Mays Landing passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was born and raised in western New York to the late Alvin and Hazel Radloff. Susan and her family moved from Angelica, New York to Brigantine, New Jersey in 1978. She worked as a waitress in Atlantic City until she decided to change careers in 1980. Her new career as a Slot Shift Cashier Supervisor started on opening day of the Sands Casino. She spent 8 years there and then proceeded to work at the Taj Mahal Casino, where she was one of the people to set up the slot cashier department in 1989. She retired in 2014 from there but still talked of her many friendships she developed throughout her career.

She fulfilled her dream of home ownership in 1989 in the Laureldale section of Hamilton Township, where she lived until her death. Her hobbies included her extensive garden around her house, having family dinners and the joy of baking her famous Christmas cookies that everyone loved.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, brother Alvin Radloff Jr., sister Jane Wakefield, her son Mark Hallock, a couple of cousins and 2 brothers in law.

Her extensive family that mourns her death include her sisters, Faith McCarty, Christel Sauer (Rick); brother, Karl (Yvonne); her children, Norman Hallock Jr. (Mariealania aka Mia), James Hallock, Corina Hallock and Sandee DeFrancisco (Frank); her greatest joy of 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving, many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Services will be private at a later date in New York State. A celebration of life party will be held this summer for friends and family locally.
