Carrie E. White, affectionately known as “Deanie”, departed this life unexpectedly on April 26, 2021. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ on January 21, 1956 to the late Russell Sr. and Dorothy Jones.

Deanie, as she was very lovingly called by family and friends, was a very compassionate and respected wife known as “Queen B” by her husband. She attended Atlantic City Public School and Atlantic Cape Community College where she received her Associate’s Degree in Nutrition and Management. Deanie also served in the United States Air Force Reserves and was recognized as “Airman Jones.” She was employed as a Dietary Director at Absecon Manor Nursing Home and Atlantic City Medical Center Mainland Division, where she retired. She also worked part time at Sheppard Bus Service as a bus aide for 10 years.

Deanie enjoyed playing bingo often. She loved her grandkids and was very protective of them all. She always had them over to the house to watch “the WIZ”. Deanie was very loving and accepted Christ at a young age. Even during the pandemic when church was unavailable, she watched two services every Sunday. She also enjoyed listening to her grandson (Kamal’s) music and was his #1 fan. Her two favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas, where she loved to prepare big meals for family and friends. Deanie was a friend to everyone she came in contact with. Everyone that came to the house called her mommom and her home was open to all.

She was predeceased by her parents, Russell Sr. and Dorothy Jones; daughter, Nyeka R. Jones; nephews, Antoine E. Jones and Walid K. Jones; great-niece, India Jones-Blunt; and mother-in-law Martha White and brother-in-law Rogers White.

Carrie leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving husband Gregory White, her devoted daughter GreKischa White; five grandchildren, Kamal Black, Mykel Black and his wife Tynesha; Jamiraha and Jamir Blunt, and NyLisa Green, four great-grandchildren; Nyeka, Mykel Jr., Yah’sir and My’Ani Black, four sisters, Patricia, Vera, Signora and Valeria Jones, one brother, Russell Jones Jr., brother-in-laws whom she loved, Robert, Eddie, Darryl White and sister-in-law Sharon Flake (Greg) and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A pass thru viewing will be held on Monday, May 3rd from 11am to 12 Noon at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ. A grave side service with Military Honors will follow at 12:30pm at Lincoln Memorial Park, Route 40, Mays Landing, NJ.
